My Current Modlist
this is a list of mods I’m currently using.
Quality of Life
-
Automatic Gates
you can probably guess that this auto-opens and closes gates behind you so you don’t end up getting off your horse by accident (a massive source of frustration in late-game). -
Auto-Grab Truffles
makes it so that the auto-grabber can pick up truffles your pigs have dug up! -
Better Crafting
a must-have for any mods that add craftables, it just tidies up the crafting menu & divides craftable items into categories. -
Better Sort
I am lazy and absolutely loathe having to manually sort my weapons/items/tools in my toolbar; this lets me set an order & forget about it. Not compatible with GMCM, so you have to edit the config manually. -
Chests Anywhere
I am disorganized and don’t know where anything is, this prevents me from wandering from building to building trying to organize my inventory (an actual nightmare). -
CJB Cheats Menu
I only use this for freezing time indoors and very rarely warping back to my house when I’ve stayed out too late…>.>;; -
Crop Watering Bubbles Continued
adds a bubble above crops that have yet to be watered; useful for trellis crops/thicker crops that you may not be able to see the color of the dirt through. never re-water the same area 20 times bc of your ADHD again! -
Destroyable Bushes
makes all bushes destroyable with your axe. -
Easy Farm Switcher
lets you swap your farm midway through a save! very useful for when you want to try out different farm maps but don’t want to start a new save. -
Furniture Adjustment
do you hate the furniture grid system and wish you could adjust where your decor sits better? me too, so did the creator of this mod, enough to program this. -
Greenhouse Sprinklers
adds sprinklers to the greenhouse; currently upgradable to water the entire farm as well. -
Happy Home Designer
a makeover of the in-game catalogue interface (and also adds some more complete catalogues) that has alternative texture integration (so you can select and view alternative textures as well when picking out an item from the catalogue). -
Let Me Shop
allows you to still process geodes and buy things from Clint when getting your tools upgraded. -
Let’s Move It
allows you to move anything (buildings, bushes, crops, trees, etc.) -
Lookup Anything
adds a toggleable menu that allows you to look up literally anything (recipes, things that can be made from the vegetable you just harvested, artisan goods that can be made by a machine, etc.) Has options to prevent gift taste spoiling (if you haven’t given someone an item yet and they like it, it will not tell you…with that option enabled). Very useful for mods that add content like crops, artisan goods, etc. -
Noclip Mode
great for modded maps (for example, mods that change the farmhouse); sometimes your furniture becomes lost in the void when upgrading your house, or an item spawns out of bounds: go get that rogue peach! If you’re not familiar with the concept of noclipping, it allows you to pass through areas that are out of bounds. -
Non-Destructive NPCs
makes npcs react to objects in their path the same way they would to a player character being in their path (stopping, getting a ? above their head, then passing through quickly) rather than destroying it. -
PNG Retex Helper
great for any loose assets you have that you’d like patched into the game; saves you from having to write individually-tailored mods for each thing. instead, you can just drop any .pngs you have into the subfolders and they will be magically patched into the game! very nifty. :3 -
QuickSave
similar to how old-school emulators worked with saved states, you can quicksave (f5) and quickload (f7) with this. -
Reset Terrain Features
useful for if you swap maps a lot (for testing, or otherwise). enables a menu that will allow for toggleable resetting of various terrain features (bushes, trees, stumps, grass, boulders, etc.) -
Spouse Room Renovation
allows you to completely redecorate your partner’s room, including changing the flooring/wallpaper. -
UI Info Suite 2
allows you to skip the game’s intro with the esc key, shows your luck, tomorrow’s weather (if it’s not sunny), reminds you to visit the traveling merchant & watch the Queen of Sauce; shows villagers’ locations on the map, renders heart levels with npcs more accurately, displays icons over animals that need petting, shows crop type and days until harvest on mouseover, shows a bubble over animals with item yields (ready to be milked/shorn), displays an icon reminding you your tool is done being upgraded, displays an icon letting you know how long robin will be working on a building, shows an icon by items which haven’t been shipped yet, and much more!
Mental Health QoL
-
No Greenhouse Entrance Tiles
removes the tiles from in front of the greenhouse. they just drive me insane, so I remove them. -
No More Flies
for my fellow entomophobes out there, this replaces that awful buzzing sound the cave flies make with a short list of provided alternatives and also changes the sprites for flies and grubs to be fairy slimes. also removes the buzzing ambient sound from summer leaving only birdsongs. there are plans to implement arachnophobia-friendly retextures as well. -
Ilucie’s Spider Replacement
for my fellow arachnopobes, this replaces the icky arachnids with cute angery junimos. -
Precise Furniture
lets you move furniture pixel-by-pixel so you can get it precisely where you want it; perfect for those of us with OCD or who just don’t love the way furniture placement works in vanilla. -
Pumpkin Junimos Replace Spirit’s Eve Maze Spiders
replaces the spirit’s eve spiders inside the maze with pumpkins carved into junimos.
Prerequisites
-
Alternative Textures
allows you to install texture packs for just about anything in-game (pets, children, buildings, craftables, etc.) -
Bush Bloom Mod
enables modders to add custom bush harvestables (similar to salmonberries and blackberries in base game). A requirement for if you enable Wild Food on WAG. -
Calcifer
supports custom object categories among other things, a requirement for many modded crops. -
Cauldron
This mod does nothing on its own, but makes managing Wildflour’s mod suite much easier! You can safely ignore this if you don’t end up using her mods. -
Content Patcher
if you install anything, you’ll probably want to install this; allows the game code to be patched easily using .json files. Nearly everything uses this as a prerequisite these days. -
Custom Farm Loader
a requirement for many custom farms (that are not meant to replace existing/vanilla farms). A requirement for Easy Farm Switcher. -
Custom TV Channels
allows users to add custom TV channels, this one is a requirement for Gardening with Hisame. -
DaisyNiko’s Tilesheets
a requirement for many custom maps. -
Extra Animal Config
a framework allowing mods to allow for animals that can be sheared and also milked, and changing custom animals’ diets (this is a requirement for Chicken Feed). -
Farm Type Manager
allows modders to set custom spawnable items in any location, not just the farm! A requirement for WAG’s Wild Food setting. -
Fashion Sense
if you remember Kisekae or Get Dressed from back in the day (pre-1.5), this is the modern successor. allows for installable packs containing nearly any kind of wearable (hats, sleeves, shirts, bottoms, shoes, etc.). -
Furniture Framework
a framework allowing modders to make furniture with custom descriptions, sizes, collisions, rotations, layers, seats, table slots, etc. A requirement for DTANaDaWTNaRW. -
Generic Mod Configuration Menu
an in-game UI that allows for the edit of compatible mods on the fly. -
GMCM Options
allows for more complex options to be available within generic mod configuration menu. -
HxW Tilesheets
a requirement for many of the maps by Wildflour. -
Item Extensions
a framework allowing modders to add custom resources, clumps, drops (from the train, treasures, panning), custom eating animations, and more. Required for the mixed seeds in WAG. -
Lumisteria Tilesheets Indoor
another commonly required tileset for modded maps; this one is for indoors. -
Lumisteria Tilesheets Outdoor
same as above but for outdoor maps. -
Mail Framework Mod
Enables mods to send custom mail to the player. Required for Romantic Love Letters. -
Misc Map Actions Properties
Adds some map-related features, a requirement for Immersive Barns & Coops. -
PIF Personal Rooms
a requirement for any mods adding new rooms (maps) to your farmhouse. -
Solid Foundations
allows for custom buildings to be constructed. required for Shyzie’s String Lights. -
Unlockable Bundles
allows modders to add their own custom bundles. Required for both Lnh’s Expanded Community Center and WAG.
Immersion
-
Anniversary on Calendar
puts your wedding anniversary on the community calendar, along with any children’s birthdays. -
Chicken Feed
a complete rework of how chickens are fed, they now eat chicken feed, which is craftable or purchaseable from marnie (since birds don’t eat hay). -
Fall 28 Snow Day
makes it snow on the last day of fall, explaining why on winter 1 it is always covered in snow. x3 -
Folk Music Pack
a really nice music pack of folk instrument covers of stardew valley game songs. -
Golden Hour
changes the window lighting indoors throughout the day. not a huge thing, but I like the way it looks. -
Immersive Barns & Coops
greatly overhauls the maps for barns & coops (including the upgrades). has a toggleable additional area you can use for machines & storage, and now each animal has aa distinct ‘pen’ area and will spawn in that each morning (assuming you have all the mod’s requirements). -
Pregnancy & Birth Events
when applicable, enables either the player or their partner to have an event/cutscene in which they find out they’re pregnant and another for the birth of their child (the way this is handled in vanilla is weird imo so this is a minor immersion fix). The author has plans to add adoption events as well. -
Romantic Love Letters
adds more in-depth letters for each npc in town based on your friendship (or romantic involvement) with them.
Map Changes
-
Aimon’s More Lively Sewer Overhaul
Since the modder who did Underdark Sewers is no longer active, this has been my saving grace. The vanilla sewer is pretty bland imo, this improves its looks without changing too much of the original vibe. -
Better Slime Hutch
Highly customizeable slime hutch interior; can change it to a greenhouse or cellar (for those who don’t wish to raise slimes), or just change the look of it altogether. -
Green Farm Cave
I’ve played with so many but this is my favorite cave overhaul so far - just a smidge larger, not too much. has a toggleable restoration pool (like in the mountain hot springs) and underground quarry features, and allows you to grow crops if you so desire. -
Interiors of Pelican Town series: Caroline’s Sunroom, Clinic and Harvey’s Apartment, Elliott’s Seaside Shack, Mayor Lewis’ Manor, Mullner Residence, Trailer, and Witch’s Hut
an excellent retexture/reimagining of the maps for these areas by QueenAcademe. Also has a redesign for the starter and first farmhouse upgrade. Just really well done, and absolutely gorgeous interiors. Can’t wait for them to finish the other buildings! -
Kisaa’s Cozy Rustic Farmhouse & Cellar
A pair of really well-made mods with lots of loving details. The house is rare for modded homes in that some of the renovations for the fully-upgraded house actually function (for some reason many modders do not do this)! has a happy medium of enough extra room to be able to decorate to your heart’s content without feeling overwhelmingly huge. The cellar goes really well with it, being lofted with room for decorating and still plenty of room to function as a proper cellar. -
Lnh’s Ginger Island House
a nice middle ground map retexture for the Ginger Island farmhouse that gives you some more room to decorate without feeling overwhelming. -
Organized Big Shed
again, I feel like the vanilla buildings don’t quite give you enough room, but so many mods feel like they add entirely too much room to where I at least end up feeling like I’ll never fill all this room. this is another happy medium where there’s some added room, but not so much that it feels cheaty or overwhelming. -
Overgrown Valley
Lune’s mods are great, and I really love their remake of most of the outdoor maps in the game. Playing this game for so many hours over so many years, the look of the valley can get a little stale. in the past, my go-tos were DaisyNiko’s SDV Reimagined I, II, and then III, but there hasn’t been a new version for 1.6. This works with the new game version and also looks wonderful. -
Relaxing Greenhouse
I’m trying out this one because I like Kana’s other mods editing the shed and farm cave. So far I like it, it’s about the same size as the vanilla greenhouse but with more room for trees. -
Wildflour’s Four Seasons Farm Map
A new farm map from Wildflour, this one stars very small and has custom bundles that unlock other parts of the farm.
Additional Content
-
Gardening with Hisame
adds a custom TV channel with gardening & farm decorating advice. -
Lnh’s Community Center Expanded
This adds some bundles for after you finish the vanilla community center and expands it further to include a greenhouse and some other rooms. There are custom rewards for the added bundles as well! Not compatible with a Joja playthrough. -
Wildflour’s Atelier Goods
this used to be a series of many different mods, but thanks to Cauldron each part of this mod can be enabled/disabled to your liking! No more 10+ mod suite, just one convenient all-in-one pack!
Aesthetic Changes
-
Arkneru’s Retexture of NPCs
currently only has sprites for the marriable characters, but has portraits for everyone now! I really love Neru’s aesthetic, it’s cute but similar enough to vanilla to not be too different. -
Altar of Yoba Replacement
changed the gaudy (imo) golden altar & worship area in the seed shop to a more natural-looking wood & ivy version. -
Better Water 2
retextures the water to look better, also has some color options. -

Naya’s Mermaid Collection v2
replaces the old mariner with an assortment of gorgeous mermaids. -

Sherry’s cuter giftbox
makes the starting gift box more pastel & gives it a big purple ribbon. -
Soffy’s Better Museum Display Cases
adds glass overlays to the display cases in the museum/library. also has toggleable retextures of the cases themselves. -
Soft Slow Seasons
the best overall map retexture I’ve seen, actually shows some transition within the seasons rather than suddenly there being snow everywhere on Winter 1. the grass gradually brightens in summer, then turns brown throughout autumn, then snow gradually melts in spring! -
The Song of the Mermaid
A fantastic recolor of the Night Market’s mermaid show by Naya. -
StarDust’s Maps Retexture
a bunch of minor festival changes, adding some color to the egg festival, tweaks the night market and Pierre’s stands for festivals. quite pretty!
