Recommended Mods

Some of these may be old & outdated, and therefore incompatible with Stardew Valley 1.6; my apologies.

Quality of Life

• After Midnight Speed Buff
  does what it says on the tin; after midnight, buffs your speed and changes the bgm to remind you to make it home before passing out!
• Better Farm Cave Forage
  increases the spawn frequency of fruits if you selected bats for the farm cave.
• Better Rarecrows
  once all the rarecrows are placed on your farm, it effectively covers the entire farm, negating crows & removing the need to place them in certain spots every few feet.
• Cheap Catalogues
  lowers the price of the furniture & wallpaper catalogues by a lot. useful for if you just want to have fun decorating and don’t want to have to save up a ton of money to do so.
• Farm Rearranger
  allows moving structures on your farm (like you can do from Robin’s) from your farm. these days I tend to use Let’s Move It instead, but if that feels too cheaty/powerful for you, I used this one for years before LMI was released.
• Greenhouse Sprinklers
  allows upgrading the greenhouse at Robin’s to include sprinklers. there are three levels of upgrades: waters every morning, every morning and evening, and the third and final upgrade waters all of the crops on the farm as well.
• Joys of Efficiency
  I used this for a long time in 1.5, but it has since been abandoned and replaced by Glory of Efficiency.
• Scarecrows as Sprinklers
  configures scarecrows to also water your crops. I see why people would want to combine the two, but I generally find this to be too easy and no longer fun anymore.
• Skull Cavern Elevator
  adds an elevator similar to the one in the mines to the Skull Cavern.

Immersion

• Beach Sounds
  adds more realistic beach/sea/ocean sounds to the beach.
• Cooperative Egg Hunt
  has the community participate together in the egg hunt instead of individually, and the win condition is a toggleable amount of eggs found; feels less awful than beating a bunch of children at an egg-hiding contest.
• Custom Summer Sounds
  eliminates the ambient buzzing of insects from summer and replaces it with cicada songs instead. bird sounds remain unchanged.
• Greenhouse Entry Begone
  I HATE THE TILES at the entrance to the greenhouse, they are the bane of my existence!!
• Immersive Scarecrows & Sprinklers
  allows placing scarecrows & sprinklers at the corners of squares rather than them taking up their own square.
• Like a Duck to Water
  allows ducks to swim in any ponds on the farm more frequently.

Map Changes

• Ace’s Expanded Cellars
  remodeled larger cellars.
• Attractive Standard Farm
  a really pretty farm map!
• Flumme’s Farmhouse
  I used to use this farmhouse map a lot, but I now find it a bit too large…
• Hippo’s Cliffside Falls Farm and matching Farm Cave
  another lovely farm map, the cave is so lovely I sometimes use it on its own. nwn
• Hippo’s Floral Foothill Farm
  a hilly farm with floral vines climbing up the rocks.
• Witchy Crystal Farm
  a spacious farm with crystals scattered throughout and multiple waterfalls. has a giant lake at the center with a large crystal jutting out.

Added Content

• Chichi’s Realistic Flowers
  adds hyacinths, a new tulip variety, and my favorite - lilies of the valley.
• The Flower Calendar
  adds a wide variety of gorgeous flowers.
• The Love of Cooking
  reimagines cooking as a skill you can level, adds various recipes; a really well done mod!
• Prospurrity
  adds four new cat varieties as barn animals that give varied & interesting (and cute!) items.
• Strawberry Blossom
  easily one of my favorite food mods of all time; adds a wide variety of strawberry-themed dishes: various cakes, tanghulu, crepes, canapes, mochi, and mille-feuille!

Aesthetic Changes

• Adarin’s Girl Mod
  reimagines the male bachelors in Pelican Town as pretty girls instead
• Bathhouse Hot Spring
  I’ve been using this retexture (in various states) since ~1.4; it’s one of my favorites! reimagines the mountain hot spring as a Japanese-style onsen.
• Chichi’s Mint Bike
  replaces the horse with a stylish mint green bike, complete with straw basket!
• Cute Junimos for all Chests
  a retexture available for the various chests in the game that adds cute junimo!
• Doll Totem
  changes the various totems in the game to adorable kokeshi dolls.
• Korea Retro
  these days I prefer a more cottagecore aesthetic, but this mod is unique in that it’s in a more modern style, albeit that of rural Korea. replaces not just the farm buildings, but also the buildings around town.
• Less Ugly Town Interiors
  revamps the town interior layouts to give it a more lived-in feel.
• Miowee’s Portraits
  it’s truly a pity that this modder never finished their portrait retexture beyond the marriageable characters from the valley, because their art style is extremely cute!
• Overgrown Skeletons and Pink Monsters
  attempts to soften the look of some of the monsters from the mines to be a little less scary.

Farmer Edits

  just the cutest assortment of flower crowns, bows, and animal ears I’ve ever seen!!
• Witchy Rustic Looks
  I’m obsessed with the bear-eared straw hat from this.

Furniture

• Cute Rabbit Furniture
  made for the year of the rabbit, this furniture is extremely cute and features a red-and-gold lunar new year theme. I especially love the plants and tables from this.
• Gedian’s Swing
  adds a few lovely wooden swing styles, including one suspended from a tree! perfect for your cottagecore fantasy.
• Moon Lamp Furniture
  adds some ethereal lamps shaped like the moon. available in full or crescent.
