random facts

• i think languages are really cool and would love to be able to speak as many languages as possible someday. for now, i settle for learning lots of random words in different languages, picking up sentence structure, things like that. I have some working knowledge of German (I’m very out of practice and need to brush up on my grammar) and can converse in Japanese and English.
• i love cozy games: stardew valley, fields of mistria, moonstone island, animal crossing, calico, ooblets, little witch in the woods, and mystia’s izakaya are some of my favorites!
• i really like small, cute characters, like fairies, susuwatari/soot sprites, kodama, sumikkogurashi, mamegoma, pikmin, junimo, and tamagotchi.
• i love yuruchara and funassyi and chiitan are my faves.
• i love coffee and tea, especially floral infusions! some of my favorite teas & tisanes are assam, darjeeling, ceylon with rose petals, sencha with cherry blossoms, sakura matcha, spearmint with rose, chamomile, earl grey with cornflower, catnip, and lady grey.
• my senses of smell and sound are hypersensitive, and are especially prone to sensory overload.
• i hate social media and have tried to unplug from most forms, but I do still like microblogging so i am on tumblr and the fediverse. i use my tumblr more like a pinterest, i guess? it’s just stuff that makes me laugh or that i like the aesthetic of.
• i’m good at fishing minigames. when people complain about how hard fishing is in stardew valley, I don’t get it at all. it’s very easy for me… i do however find fishing in games tedious.
• i wanted to be an artist when i grew up, or maybe a musician.
• i used to have pastel-colored hair, but since maintaining my (naturally brunette) hair is a huge pain in the ass, i’m planning on waiting to mess with that any further until i go fully grey. I will have pastel pink hair once i go fully grey.
• i have night terrors and sleep apnea.
• i prefer feminine artists, musicians, and characters. I don’t give a shit about male characters in media tbh.
• a lot of aspects of fandom really piss me off. i don’t care about shipping discourse, and i don’t get why people can’t just occupy their time with something more important. for this reason, i don’t really “participate” in fandom, though i do of course enjoy media.
• surrealism is really appealing to me. the quickest way to get me interested in something is for it to have some surrealist element.
• idol music was a really important part of my life as a teenager and young adult, and I still follow idol groups, even if i don’t listen to them as often as I used to.
• i tend to relate the most to small, cute (and sometimes pathetic), blob-like or shapeless characters, like chiikawa, kirby, doro, and yukkuri.
